15 Minute Focus on Finding Your Why

Today I’m sharing a 15 minute focus exercise. So it’s funny when I think about all of the focus exercises and which one is like “The One.” I think this one is it.

So when we set out to make a change and we want to either exercise more or differently, or we want to eat less or differently (or sometimes more) we pull from different places for motivation and reasons why.

Sometimes it’s vanity and that’s okay. And sometimes it is health and sometimes it is just maybe a physical goal or a physical ability that we want to acquire. I truly believe we need a pie chart of motivations to pull from because depending where your mind is in any given day or any given circumstance, you need to be able to pull from all your different “Whys.”

However, they all need to be anchored in one. And that’s today’s 15 minute focus. So any change, any modification, any path, any step on your journey, whatever you want to call it, the most successful way to be able to continue and to reach your goal is to find a heart centered reason why.

So I’ll give you mine cause it’s super easy. My heart centered reason why I take care of my body through exercise and I make healthy choices in my food is that I want to be an amazing grandma. I have four children and I want to be the one that gets to be down on the floor and play with my grandchildren with as much ability and energy and heart as I can.

So I would love for you to grab a timer, set it for 15 minutes, and actually breathe. Take a few breaths. Put your hand on your heart. Think about the choices that you’re making, the changes that you want, and the path that you’re on, and explore your heartfelt reason why and report back. I’m excited to hear it!
